Guam Cellular & Paging,Inc, dba GUAMCELL Communications and SAIPANCELL Communications, is pleased to announce that it has entered into an agreement to sell 100% of its outstanding shares to NTT DoCoMo, Inc. of Japan. Concurrently, NTT DoCoMo has also announced that they have entered into an agreement to acquire HafaTEL, and merge the two companies. Both agreements will not take effect until all regulatory approvals are granted which is not expected to take place for approximately six months.
NTT DoCoMo is going to select GUAMCELL's President, Mark Chamberlin to be the new Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Chamberlin will lead a team of existing managers to oversee the merging of the two companies. With Mr. Chamberlin and the combined GUAMCELL and HafaTEL management team in charge of continuing operations, the acquisition will be seamless to both customers and vendors.
