  • Thousands of island residents joined the American Cancer Society's 2009 "Relay for Life," which was held at the GWHS track. 106 teams raised over $365,000 for the fight against cancer.

  • "Towing the Line to Save Lives" ; American Cancer Society Plane Pull

  • In an effort to raise money to fight cancer, American Cancer Society hosted the event "Towing the Line to Save Lives". Thirty-seven teams from various businesses and organizations on Guam accepted Continental Micronesia’s challenge to win the Plane Pull Championship title for the American Cancer Society. Teams of twenty-five people mustered their collective energy to tug a Continental Airlines 737 aircraft 12 feet in the shortest amount of time to win the title.
